Sequence Inspector for Premiere Pro
Today is a big day for me — my first Premiere Pro plugin is officially launched!
I’ve spent the last 3 months working hard on it. It was a challenging but incredibly exciting journey.
What problem does it solve?
The plugin automatically detects flaws on the timeline: black frames, gaps, offline media, and other technical errors. The tool is super simple, but it saves a ton of headaches.
I’ve had this idea in my head for over a year. It all started with a classic mistake: once again, I missed a minor glitch and delivered my film for release. We're only human, it happens to the best of us, but that’s when I realized this process needed to be automated.
How did the development go?
My first attempts were a struggle — I kept hitting a wall trying to figure out how the Premiere Pro API works. AI was hallucinating a lot back then and constantly gave me false information. But technology moves fast, and over time, AI became a fully-fledged coding assistant for me.
I definitely didn't get it right on the first try. There were more bugs than I could have ever imagined! I spent the last 2 months exclusively fixing them. It was crucial for me that users could be 100% confident: this plugin will help, not harm, their project.
Now the tool is ready, and I’d be thrilled if it makes your video editing workflow a little easier!
